I like when the music happens like this:
Something in His eyes grabs hold of a tambourine in me, Then I turn and lift a violin in someone else, and they turn, and this turning continues, It has reached you now. Isn’t that something? -Rumi Translated by Daniel Ladinsky Listen, O drop, give yourself up without regret,
and in exchange gain the Ocean. Listen, O drop, bestow upon yourself this honor, and in the arms of the Sea be secure. Who indeed should be so fortunate? An Ocean wooing a drop! In God’s name, in God’s name, sell and buy at once! Give a drop, and take this Sea full of pearls. -Rumi Translated by Kabir HelminskI & Ahmad Rezwani In generosity and helping others, be like a river.
In compassion and grace, be like the sun. In concealing others’ faults, be like the night. In anger and fury, be as if you have died. In modesty and humility be like the earth. In tolerance, be like the sea Appear as you are, or be as you appear. -Rumi Translated by Kabir HelminskI & Ahmad Rezwani |
Rumi
1207-1273 Rumi was a mystic Persian poet born in 1207 in the city of Balkh in what is now Afghanistan. His family was well-respected, religious, and scholarly. He followed his father’s footsteps and became a distinguished theologian and teacher. Around the age of 37, Rumi met his spiritual Master, Shams. This relationship transformed Rumi into a devoted seeker of divine truth and love. He wrote thousands of poignant, spiritually inspired poems focusing on universal love, the oneness of humankind, and the desire to reunite with the source of all oneness. Rumi was passionate about the use of music, dance, poetry, and art to help devotees focus on the divine. Although he lived 800 years ago, he is one of the most popular poets read today. Books:
