Mission Statement
Sounds of Devotion's mission is to help share the timeless and profound messages of the ancient mystic poets Hafiz, Kabir, Lalleshwari, Mirabai, Nanak, Rabia, Rumi, Ramprasad and others, through our music. It is our sincere wish and humble desire to transport these messages of love, hope and inspiration out to the world via the universal language of music, especially during these difficult times.
We feel a strong, sincere drive to be of service to our community. For each Mystic Poets CD we ask $10. All money from CD sales, and from the performance of this work, is donated to local charities who help to feed the homeless, and support the needy and elderly. During the holiday season of 2019, Sounds of Devotion performed a concert, at Books Gallery Bookstore in Sutherlin, Oregon, raising a much needed $1200 for Casa De Belen, a shelter for homeless teens in Roseburg, Oregon. We also did volunteer work with the Battered Persons Advocacy, located in Roseburg, Oregon.
Currently we are planning virtual online concerts. In light of COVID-19, when it again becomes safe to do so, we plan to resume live concerts to raise funds to support organizations that help the homeless, the needy and elderly.
