About Sounds of Devotion

Welcome! Sounds of Devotion is four musicians who came together to bring joy and inspiration to the world. We perform original pieces in the world music genre that incorporate and celebrate sounds from many cultures, including influences from India, Africa, Jazz and Folk music. Each song is set to the words of ancient mystic poets, featuring vocal harmonies that are richly accompanied by guitar, flute, percussion, and autoharp.

The music that Sounds of Devotion creates, while spiritual in nature, does not promote any religion or spiritual doctrine. We celebrate love and kindness for all creation.  Mystics throughout millennia have shared poems and songs about unity within that diversity, the source of which is universal unconditional love.  Certainly there is an abundance of diversity in the world. For Sounds of Devotion, it is our musical goal to express this unity and to serve through this music in every way we can.

Community outreach. We feel a strong drive to lift our community, helping those in need. During this time of Covid 19, we are donating $10.00 for every CD sold, in order to support volunteer workers at Lighthouse Center Bakery, who are preparing and donating soup and bread for local food banks in the Roseburg, Oregon area. During the holiday season of 2019, Sounds of Devotion performed a concert at Books Gallery Bookstore, raising a much needed $1200 for Casa De Belen, a shelter for homeless teens. We also worked with the Battered Persons Advocacy.

Currently we are planning a virtual online concert in September, with CD sales to support those in critical need in our community. If you would like to be informed of concert dates and news about Sounds of Devotion, please send us an email from our contact page. We look forward to hearing from you!
